Remember the moment you became a mum? The joy, excitement, anxiety, exhaustion and sheer wonder when you looked into your baby’s eyes?
Mums have all got a birth story. We wear them like a badge of honour. We share our stories; we laugh and cry together in circles of friends. I’m a Mater Mum wants to make that circle bigger.
We’re calling all Mater Mums, Mater Dads, Mater Grandmas and Mater Aunties ... as many people as possible ... to join our circle of friends. Because while we tend to expect that every pregnancy and birth will be risk free, the reality is that some are not.
We want to find better ways to diagnose and treat problems in pregnancy and birth and help give more mums that moment.
With your support, I’m a Mater Mum will raise a minimum of $200,000 in 2011 for vital research to help newborn babies and their mums.
